Terms & Conditions

Set out below are the terms and conditions of the Prism program owned and operated by Magrabi Optical based in Cairo, Egypt.

These terms and conditions form the basis of the Prism and explain the mechanisms of collection and use of Prism Points and the different program aspects. 

Earning and/or usage of any benefits or rewards offered as a part of the Prism will be deemed as acceptance of these terms & conditions. It is the Prism member’s own responsibility to read and understand them. 

These terms and conditions are effective as of the date of publication and shall apply all through the period of the membership. Magrabi Optical may, at its sole discretion, modify these terms and conditions. Such modifications will be communicated through the Magrabi website www.magrabioptical.com/prism

1. Program definition:

 

The Prism is a loyalty program of Magrabi Optical that rewards enrolled members with points when making purchases at any Magrabi Optical stores in:

  • Egypt
  • Saudi Arabia
  • UAE
  • Turkey
  • Lebanon
  • Qatar
  • Bahrain
  • Oman
  • Kuwait

Customers will be able to earn and accumulate Rewards Points & Tier Points every time they make a purchase. Accumulated Rewards Points can be redeemed for any products at any Magrabi Optical stores.

2. Member enrolment eligibility:

All customers of Magrabi Optical in: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Lebanon, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait are eligible to enrol.

Ennoblement is tied to purchase conducted in any Magrabi Optical stores.

3. Membership levels:

There are three membership levels, and member eligibility per level is based on a member’s total Tier Points amount in one and a half years at Magrabi Optical stores in: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Lebanon, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait.

  • Blue: All customers who conduct and purchase at Magrabi Optical stores will be able to register at the store to become a member in Prism. Blue level is the by default level to all customers upon enrolment. Published Blue level benefits:
      • Earning of points on Prism.
      • Redemption of points on Prism.
      • Option to receive [opt in] email communication on fashion tips, special bulletins on eye related deceases, special offers Magrabi Hospitals test and checks.
      • Options to receive [opt in] email communication on contact lenses.
      • Options to receive [opt in] email communication on kids eyewear fashion.
  • Silver: Members with a total Tier Points between 50,000 – 89,999 which are accumulated in 18 months will be upgraded to silver level. Published Silver level benefits:
      • Earning of points on Prism.
      • Redemption of points on Prism.
      • Option to receive [opt in] email communication on fashion tips, special bulletins on eye related deceases, special offers Magrabi Hospitals test and checks.
      • Options to receive [opt in] email communication on contact lenses.
      • Options to receive [opt in] email communication on kids eyewear fashion.
      • Invitation to special events
      • Discounted eye testing.
      • Tactical offers at partners
  • Gold: Members with a total Tier Points equal or more than 90,000 which are accumulated in 18 months will be upgraded to gold level. Published Gold level benefits:
      • Earning of points on Prism.
      • Redemption of points on Prism.
      • Option to receive [opt in] email communication on fashion tips, special bulletins on eye related deceases, special offers Magrabi Hospitals test and checks.
      • Options to receive [opt in] email communication on contact lenses.
      • Options to receive [opt in] email communication on kids eyewear fashion.
      • Invitation to special events
      • Discounted eye testing.
      • Tactical offers at partners
      • Member keeps points when an item is returned due to a defect in the product.

4. Membership upgrade & maintenance:

  • Membership upgrade cycle will run daily but will consider only purchases which are dated older than one month.
  • Silver members will be re-qualified to maintain Silver level if they managed to accumulate 45,000 Tier Points in 18 months after last upgrade.
  • Silver members will be re-qualified to upgrade to Gold level if they managed to accumulate 90,000 or more Tier Points in 18 months after last upgrade.
  • Gold members will be re-qualified to maintain Gold level if they managed to accumulate 81,000 Tier Points in 18 months after last upgrade.
  • Prism members that meet the eligibility criteria for a higher level will be upgraded to that level.
  • Members who no longer meet the eligibility criteria for respective levels will be downgraded to a lower level, (i.e. if total Tier Points drop below predefined thresholds.).

5. Suspension or Cancellation of Membership:

  • Magrabi Optical reserves the right to terminate the membership at any time if any of these terms & conditions are not complied with or if a member in any way abuses the Prism membership, and additionally in the following event(s): 
    • Any fraudulent acts committed by member. 
  • Points rewarded to a member either before or after the date of a fraud shall be subject to review and possible cancellation.
    • Points redeemed by a member in the form of a product(s) or services either before or after the date of a fraud shall be subject to review and may be liable to return the product(s) in its unused, undamaged state or paying for the same in Local currency as per country of conducted transactions or may be liable to pay the fees and charges of received services.
    • In the event of a “Prism” member’s death, upon written request and proof of death, any Reward Points in the deceased member’s account may be transferred to the account(s) of the member’s spouse, children or parents with the provision of the Will or Letter of Authority (confirming the beneficiary of the estate).  The Reward points may be transferred to a maximum of 3 beneficiaries.  Tier Points, Tier status, or benefits will not be transferred. 
  • In case of termination of a membership initiated by a member, accumulated points will become invalid.
  • In the event of suspension, termination or cancellation of a membership, Magrabi Optical reserves the right to use any accumulated points to pay off any outstanding debts/balance.
  • Magrabi Optical reserves the right to accept /reject any refund requests for returned items that were eligible for earning points under the Prism points system.

6. Earning points:

There are 2 types of points a member will earn upon purchases with Prism.

  • Rewards Points: these points are dependent on the membership level and used in redemption.

  • Tier Points: these points are used for the membership upgrade and membership level maintenance.

    • Additional Prism points may be earned at Magrabi Optical stores in the mentioned list of countries for certain promotions as and when stipulated. The Prism management reserves the right to change/modify the terms and conditions of a promotion at any time without prior notice.
    • Additional reward points that may be awarded to Prism members for a promotion may not be applicable to other promotions running parallel or promotions running at a later date at Magrabi Optical stores in the mentioned list of countries.
    • Points will be rewarded on presenting either one of the following: the Prism membership number, the Email address, the National ID or the registered mobile number of the Prism member.
  • Members of the Prism can earn points for purchases made using cash and/or debit/credit cards.
  • In the event a purchase is made using a combination of cash/gift voucher/credit/debit card and Prism points, members will earn points only for the amount that was paid in cash/gift voucher/credit/debit card.

7. Redemption of Points:

Prism points can be redeemed at any Magrabi Optical store in the listed countries. Redemption rules and benefits are the same across all levels. Prism Points, regardless of membership type, can be redeemed only as follows:

  • Every Prism point is equivalent to the related local currency at any Magrabi Optical stores in that specific country.
  • Points awarded can be redeemed in same day after earning those points.
  • Redemption can be done at any Magrabi Optical stores in original country of enrolment by requesting for the same at the checkout counter using the membership card, or register mobile number subject to a minimum credit of 1,000 points in the member's account.
  • No online redemption is possible with Prism membership.
  • The monetary value of the 1,000 Rewards Points on redemption is set for each country as:

8. Membership Account Status:

Members of Prism will have a membership account which will only have one status at any given time.
The account statuses are:

  • Active – Members with an account status of Active will have the ability to: 
      • Update Member profile (within limits.  See below).
      • Point’s earning.
      • Points Redemption.
  • Deceased – the Member‘s account has been closed as the Member is deceased. Members with an account status of Deceased will have the ability to: 
      • No Point’s earning.
      • No Points Redemption.
  • Closed - the Member’s account has been closed for other reasons not cited above. Members with an account status of Closed will have the ability to: 
      • No Point’s earning.
      • No Points Redemption.
      • All points forfeited from account.
      • Once closed, the account cannot be reopened.
  • Suspended - the Member’s account has been suspended due to suspected fraudulent activity. Members with an account status of Suspended will have the ability to:
      • Point’s earning.
      • No Points Redemption.
      • Prevented from logging on to website.
  • Incomplete - the Member has not provided necessary details for him to make redemption. Members with an account status of Incomplete will have the ability to:
      • Point’s earning.
      • No Burn until necessary information is provided either at any Magrabi Optical Store, the Contact Centre or the www.magrabioptical.com/prim. The minimum requirement to redeem points is to have mobile number in Prism.
      • Redemption will not be possible for members who have only completed quick enrolment via Store enrolment by providing only their name, surname and national id.
  • Inactive - Member accounts will be marked as inactive after 24 consecutive months of inactivity (no transactions in the account within the period) when an inactive member makes an earning of points or redemption of points, he/she will go into active status. Members with an account status of Inactive will have the ability to:
      • Point’s earning.
      • Points Redemption.

9. Rewards Pool Management Rules:

  • Points cannot be purchased.
  • Points are only awarded when a member purchases a product from a Magrabi Optical stores in the listed countries.
  • Family and friends can accumulate into one Prism account.
  • Only the owner of the Prism account ( the original member) can redeem the Reward Points.
  • Merging or joining multiple account into one Prism account is possible provided that accounts are belonging to only and only 1 member.

10. Points Transfer:

    • Prism points are non-transferable to another other Prism Member.

 

11. Points Expiry:

  • Prism Rewards Points expire on the last day of the calendar month after 3 years from the date it was credited to the member's account. Example: Points earned on May 11, 2013 will expire on May 31, 2016.
  • Prism Tier Points do not expire.

 12. Points Balance & Personal Details:

Members can check their Prism points balance and change personal details online by logging into their registered accounts at www.magrabioptical.com/prim, at any Magrabi Optical store upon request, or by calling Contact Centre, Saturdays to Thursdays from 11:00 am till 11:00 pm KSA time.

13. Exchange and Refund Policy:

Exchange and Refund Policy is set as per communicated in Magrabi Optical Stores for each original country of product/s purchase.

14. Personal Details:

  • It is the member's full responsibility to notify of any changes to his/her personal details which includes mobile number, address, etc.
  • Magrabi optical is not responsible for the loss of a membership number or points resulting from a failure to update personal details by logging in at www.magrabioptical.com/prism or by contacting contact centre.

15. Fraud:

  • If a member shows any signs of fraud, abuse or suspicious activity, he/she stands the risk of losing accrued points. Magrabi optical has the right to suspend or terminate his/her membership immediately.
  • If any fraudulent activity is suspected or detected, Magrabi Optical reserves the right to take necessary legal action. In addition, members may be liable for monetary losses sustained by Magrabi Optical, including litigation costs and damages. 

16. Privacy Policy:

  • The gathered information about the use of the loyalty program will be entered into the files of Magrabi Optical This data is for internal use only - to help provide more focussed, relevant services to our customers
  • Personal information such as the address, e-mail, telephone and fax numbers, as well as demographic and other relevant information, will never be disclosed (shared, sold or divulged) to third parties unless authorized by the member by participating in a program/service offered by a third party or is required to do so by law. Prism will maintain personal information and a member's business activities in accordance with our usual strict security and confidentiality standards.

17. Change in terms and conditions:

  • Magrabi Optical has all rights to withdraw, cancel or change the terms and conditions pertaining to Prism at any time without any prior notice.
  • Magrabi Optical has all rights to withdraw, cancel or change the terms and conditions pertaining to Prism without liability of whatever nature to any Prism member.

 18. Others:

  • Prism shall endeavour to provide points earning, redemption, and related services with minimum disruptions.
  • Prism cannot always guarantee the functioning of these services without disruptions, and cannot be held liable for any operational, process-related and system errors that may occur when providing any of Prism membership services.

19. Governing Law:

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Egypt, and the Parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Cairo in Egypt as the Program is managed and owned by Magrabi Optical – Egypt.
